School districts across Kansas have been dealing with threats in recent days. USD 428 Great Bend got involved Tuesday. Great Bend Middle School Principal Myron Ellegood released the following message to the guardians of all GBMS students:
Dear GBMS Families,
The school and district administration are aware of a rumored social media threat involving our school. Please know that this situation has been and continues to be thoroughly investigated, with our School Resource Officer on-site assisting in the matter. At this time, no credible evidence has been found to substantiate the threat, and there is no cause for concern.
The safety of our students remains our top priority, and we will continue to monitor and look into this situation. As always, we encourage students, families, and staff to contact us.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Myron Ellegood
Principal
