Sign up for Great Bend Rec summer programs

From the Great Bend Recreation Commission...

School is out for the summer!  Now is the time to get your child registered for a summer of fun with the Rec so please get enrolled early. These amazing programs are set to begin the first of June and run through July.  Summer activities will be offered at the Recreation Center, Activity Center, Lincoln, Jefferson, Eisenhower and Park Schools, Great Bend-Brit Spaugh Zoo, Kansas Wetlands Education Center (KWEC), and other locations throughout Great Bend. 

A variety of enrichment and recreation programs are available for children between Kindergarten and Sophomores grades.  These programs include Sketching, Painting, Ceramics, Art & Craft Studio classes, Swim lessons, special one-time classes, 4th of July Crafts, Bread Dough Art, Girly Bling classes, Tye Dye, Guitar lessons, Father’s Day classes, Cooking, Golf, Tennis, Roller Skating, STEM classes, Puppets, Creating A Commercial, just to name a few.  

Preschool programs for children ages 3 to 5 will also be held at various locations in Great Bend.  These programs include Swim Lessons, Jr. All-Star, Little Art Explorers, Little Miss Bling, Cooking classes, Mess Fest, Red, White & Blue, and Tennis for Tots are just a few of the classes we have for your little one. We are also offering a variety of fun one-time classes: Tractor Time, Dino Time, Slime Time, My Big Truck, and other classes for children this age.

In addition, we will be offering family classes for children ages 4 to 10 accompanied by an adult during the morning, afternoon, evening and on Saturday mornings.  These programs provide families with an opportunity to spend some quality time together. 

The Recreation Commission also offers adult enrichment classes for ages 16 and older.  These programs take place throughout the day and evening: Oil / Acrylic Painting, Stars & Stripes, Escape with Painting, Summer Delight, Expressive Brushstrokes, Coffee and Crafts, and Defensive Driving. 

We have a wide variety of fitness classes for ages 16 and older at a variety of times during the day: Water Aerobics, Fit For Life (60+), 50 Plus & Fit, Yoga, Tai Chi, Cardio Blast, HIIT Suspension, Spin classes, Armchair Yoga, Indoor Cycling, Midday Stretch & Strength, 50+ Crafts, painting plus art and craft classes.
