Ribbon Cutting

Family Crisis Center

July 30, 2020, the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the Family Crisis Center. Family Crisis Center has been in the process of rebranding with the emphasis of a more family focused positive image in the community. They began by wanting a new logo and having a contest that invited high school art classes within the counties they represent. The following four communities accepted the challenge to compete: Pratt, Claflin, Hoisington and Skyline.

The Family Crisis Center Leadership team picked two from each school to be in the finals, sharing the artwork submissions to Facebook and in the halls of Family Crisis Center for voting. Though tough to decide on a winner, Coryn Reif, a Sophomore from Hoisington High School ultimately won the competition. Her submission clearly encompassed family and the heart of what the Family Crisis Center represents. Coryn also utilized the colors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Awareness Ribbons which made it a perfect new logo choice. The Family Crisis Center is moving forward as a collaborative community driven, family friendly agency.

The Family Crisis Center has three programs at this time: the Domestic and Sexual Violence Program which is under the leadership of Becky Davis, the Child Advocacy Program which is under the leadership of Kasey Dalke and our Shelter which is managed by Gail Wagner.

Family Crisis Center has 24 employees and has been in business for 39 years. This organization has served hundreds of men, women, and children annually. The coverage area extends to 12 counties through north and southcentral Kansas.
