In an effort to raise funds for the nearby youth camp, the Barton
Community College athletic department is selling commemorative pink t-shirts with
all the proceeds going to the Camp Hope initiative.
Held annually at the college’s Camp Aldrich near Claflin, the camp provides a
traditional summer camp experience for ages 4-17 that have, or have had cancer.
Barton Assistant Athletic Director Heather Panning said the college is trying
to sell as many t-shirts as possible for the Cougars’ “Pink Out Night” for the
home basketball games on Feb. 15.
"Raising funds for Camp Hope means a lot to us," said Panning. "This camp supports kids that are going through cancer or treatment. It helps give those kids something to look forward to."

Barton athletics requests pre-orders of t-shirts by Feb. 1.
The shirts start at $12. For every shirt ordered, you will receive two free
general admission tickets to the basketball games against Butler.
To purchase your t-shirts, contact Panning at 620-792-9377 or panningh@bartonccc.edu. Shirts can also be ordered online at bartonsports.com.
