The work being done will require Courthouse offices to be temporarily moved to other locations. County Administrator Matt Patzner will present a building lease agreement that would allow certain offices to operate at the High Noon Properties building located at 1500 Kansas Avenue in Great Bend. The location is the former JC Penney building.
The county plans to have staff moved out of the courthouse by mid-June to begin the $4.2 million renovation that includes a new HVAC system, replacement of the two-pipe heating and cooling system and many cosmetic improvements.
The Barton County Commission will consider the proposal at their meeting Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m.
