SALINE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 1:30p.m. Sunday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Toyota Camry driven by  Mason Edward Smith, 19, Minneapolis, was westbound on Interstate 70 two miles northwest of Salina. The Toyota rear-ended a 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Sara Kay Wellbrock, 32, Russell, who lost control of the vehicle as she was merging onto westbound Interstate 70 from the northbound Interstate 135 on ramp. Then a 2008 Ford F350 driven by  Michael Alan  Rider, 24, Malvern, Arkansas, rear-ended the Toyota.

EMS transported Wellbrock to Salina Regional Health Center. Smith and Rider were not injured. All three drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP. The KHP temporarily shut down westbound I-70 following the crash.
