Gladys M. Nettleingham, 92, died September 14, 2022, at Medicalodges, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 27, 1930, on the farm near Susank, Kansas, the daughter of Emanuel and Alma E. (Miller) Ehrlich.
On May 17, 1948, she married LaVerne Eugene Nettleingham at the Emmaus Lutheran Church, Hoisington, Kansas.
Gladys was a tried and true farm wife, working along side LaVerne and raising their four children together on the farm near Galatia. She was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School for over 40 years. Gladys was also active on the Election Board and as a project leader for 4-H. She was talented with needle and thread, enjoying embroidery work and being part of the Nifty Needleworkers Club. She loved bowling, time outside gardening, watching her birds, and cheering on her Royals team.
She is survived by; two sons, Kent Nettleingham and Kevin Nettleingham, both of Galatia; daughter, Colette Keeler and husband Ray of Great Bend; son-in-law, Steve Bilyew of Claflin; brother, Leonard Ehrlich of Great Bend; and sister, Irene Jacobs of Great Bend; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and two step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne Nettleingham, daughter, Coleen Bilyew, daughter-in-law, Suzy Nettleingham, and a brother, Roland Ehrlich.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., all at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Hoisington, with Rev. Gary Wolf presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery.
