Launched for the first time in 2022 to encourage downtown shopping, the murder mystery shopping event in Great Bend is returning this year for Ladies Night Out on Sept. 26. City employees and city council members are all suspects in a fake murder downtown.
Community Coordinator Christina Hayes said shoppers will be encouraged to play along to find the suspect, weapon and location of the foul play.
"It's a process of elimination," said Hayes. "It's a super fun, super successful retail event where people can go to all the stores. As they go, there will be clue cards. A picture will be on there, and they get to eliminate items and suspects as they find them."
To win, participants will need to go around to stores collecting evidence. Once you fill out your card, the form can be turned in at any participating store.
