LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Harris II tripled and scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch, leading the Atlanta Braves past the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 to even the National League Division Series at a game apiece. Harris added an RBI double in the seventh. The Braves chased Dodgers starter Blake Snell after 3 2/3 innings. Atlanta relievers retired 14 consecutive Dodgers hitters before Max Muncy's two-strike, two-out homer in the ninth. The Dodgers' Freddie Freeman tied the game on a solo shot in the fourth. After a travel day, the series resume with Game 3 on Tuesday in Atlanta.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ray Kerr is becoming an unlikely postseason hero for the Atlanta Braves. The former convenience store worker struck out Shohei Ohtani in the Braves' 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The victory evened their National League Division Series at one game each. Kerr, a lefty reliever, found out in the morning that he'd be starting Game 2 on Sunday night. He allowed two hits, struck out four and walked one in 2 2/3 innings. Kerr was also the opener in the Braves' NL Wild Card Series Game 3 clincher over the Philadelphia Phillies.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jackson Chourio hit a two-run single off hard-throwing Mason Miller with two outs in the ninth inning as the Milwaukee Brewers rallied past the San Diego Padres for the second straight day, a 4-3 victory for a 2-0 NL Division Series lead. Trying for his first six-out save since 2024, Miller retired the side in order in the eighth. He walked Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick with one out in the ninth and pinch-hitter Gary Sánchez with two outs, and Chourio lined a 101.3 mph fastball up the middle. The best-of-five series resumes Tuesday in San Diego.
Missouri rose 11 spots to No. 14 in The Associated Press Top 25 following its rout of Florida and the Gators dropped eight to No. 16 and were replaced by LSU in the top 10. Texas will go into Saturday’s Red River Rivalry game against Oklahoma as the No. 1 team for the fourth straight week. The rest of the top five stood pat with Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami and Ohio State. The Longhorns received 61 of the 70 first-place votes from the media voting panel. Georgia got six first-place votes and Miami got two.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Patrick Mahomes is still undefeated at Allegiant Stadium. He passed for 225 yards and two touchdowns, and Kenneth Walker III rushed for 177 yards and two TDs to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a 30-27 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Walker’s 2-yard touchdown run with 3:21 left put the Chiefs ahead for good at 23-19. It was set up by Tyquan Thornton’s 55-yard reception on the previous play. Thornton suffered a serious injury on the catch and was carted off the field. Kirk Cousins passed for 365 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders, who fell to 3-1. The Chiefs are 4-0.
BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has a sprained left ankle. The two-time MVP was hurt when he was sacked at the end of the first half of Sunday's 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans. Immediately after Jackson was hurt, Ravens kicked a field goal on the final play of the first half to go ahead 24-7. Baltimore didn't score in the second half with Tyler Huntley at quarterback. Jackson did not speak to reporters after the game. Coach Jesse Minter says it's too early to tell whether Jackson will be healthy enough to play next Sunday night at Atlanta.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Kyren Williams ran for two touchdowns in the final four minutes as Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams rallied from a 10-point deficit to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-20. The Rams had struggled offensively all afternoon and a win seemed out of reach until late in the fourth quarter, when Eagles coach Nick Sirianni decided against kicking a chip-shot field goal that would have made it 23-10 and instead went for it on fourth down. The Eagles failed to convert, giving the Rams new life. Stafford led touchdown drives of 98 and 79 yards, with Williams scoring the go-ahead touchdown from 7 yards out.
ATLANTA (AP) — Jordin Canada scored 20 of her 25 points in the second half and had five steals to help the Atlanta Dream beat the New York Liberty 92-82 on Sunday in Game 1 of the best-of-five WNBA semifinals series. DeWanna Bonner added 23 points and helped fill the void when Allisha Gray went down with a left hand injury in the second quarter. Atlanta once again played stellar defense, scoring 32 points off 21 forced turnovers, including 16 in a dominant third quarter. New York trimmed a 16-point deficit down to five in the closing minutes, but a clutch 3-pointer by Canada just before the shot clock buzzer followed by another transition layup off a stop stemmed the tide. Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty with 27 points and Breanna Stewart added 19.
BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — The cockatoo has been official unveiled as the emblem for the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics in Brisbane. The organizing committee held a launch on Monday, days after an accidental leak of the mascot. An explainer video briefly appeared on YouTube last Friday, leading to screenshots circulating on social media. The emblem features a pink cockatoo, stylized to resemble an Olympic flame and the shape of Queensland state. Brisbane's Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the emblems “reflect the Brisbane (that) people know and love: vibrant, resilient, connected, friendly, playful and a little bit cheeky.” The emblems are separate to the Games mascot, which will be revealed closer to the Games.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Gabby Williams had 25 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Kiah Stokes added 14 rebounds and three blocked shots, and the Golden State Valkyries took Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals by beating the defending champion Las Vegas Aces 71-60. A’ja Wilson scored 24 points while Chelsea Gray contributed 16 points for Las Vegas, which lost guard Jewell Loyd to a left leg injury early in the third quarter. The team said she was being evaluated. Playing to chants of “Gabby! Gabby!” from the sellout crowd at Chase Center, Williams scored 18 of her points on 6-for-10 shooting in the first half. Game 2 in the best-of-five series is Wednesday night back at Chase Center.
