Clara Barton Medical Center is excited to welcome Taryn Jones, DPT, as the newest member of their Therapy Services team. As a Physical Therapist, Jones brings experience working with patients of all ages and a passion for helping individuals regain their strength, independence, and ability to enjoy the activities that matter most to them.
Originally from Norton, Jones attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, where she earned her undergraduate degree before continuing her education at the University of Kansas Medical Center and earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Throughout her training and experience, Jones has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients, including those recovering from strokes and surgeries, pediatric patients, hospital inpatients, and individuals experiencing musculoskeletal conditions. She enjoys the variety that comes with physical therapy and the opportunity to help patients through many different stages of recovery.
Growing up in a rural Kansas community, Jones understands firsthand the importance of having quality healthcare available close to home. That connection was one of the things that drew her to Clara Barton Medical Center and its commitment to caring for patients throughout rural central Kansas.
For Jones, one of the most rewarding parts of being a Physical Therapist is seeing patients make progress toward goals that can have a meaningful impact on their everyday lives.
“Every patient has different goals, and I love being able to help them get back to the things that are important to them,” said Jones. “Sometimes that means being able to get down on the floor and play with their kids, getting strong enough to safely return home, or getting back to a sport or activity they love without pain. Being able to be a part of that progress is what makes this career so rewarding.”
When working with patients, Jones encourages them to keep an open mind throughout the rehabilitation process, be willing to try new things, and communicate openly with their therapist about how they are feeling. She believes that working together and having good communication throughout the process can make a significant difference in helping patients reach their goals.
Outside of work, Jones enjoys cooking, baking, playing sports, spending time outdoors, and cheering on the Denver Broncos. She and her husband, Carter, who is a junior high and high school physical education teacher and coach at Russell High School, are also preparing to welcome their first child in August.
“I am very excited to welcome Taryn to our Therapy team,” said Natalie Bieberle, Director of Therapy Services. “Having another Physical Therapist on our team allows us to continue growing our services and meeting the needs of patients throughout our communities. Taryn’s rural Kansas background, positive attitude, and passion for helping her patients reach their goals make her a great addition to Clara Barton, and we are excited to have her here.”
