From Rice County Community Foundation
What does Rice County have that no other county does? Alden, Bushton, Chase, Geneseo, Little River, Lyons, Raymond and Sterling - eight communities, each with its own needs, its own dreams and its own pride.
The Rice County Community Foundation (RCCF) is inviting nonprofit organizations, schools, municipalities and other eligible charitable organizations to turn local ideas into action through the 2026 Community Grant Cycle. Applications opened Aug. 10 and will be accepted through Sept. 30, 2026.
“Every meaningful community improvement begins with an idea,” said LaMonna Galyon, Executive Director of the Rice County Community Foundation. “Our Community Grant Program helps move those ideas forward by investing in projects that strengthen the places we call home and create opportunities for future generations.”
Funding may support projects in community development, childcare, housing, education, health and wellness, arts and culture, parks and recreation, economic development and quality of life. RCCF especially welcomes proposals that respond to a clearly identified need, involve community partners, use a realistic budget and produce measurable, lasting benefits.
Who May Apply
• IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
• Schools and educational institutions
• Municipalities and government entities
• Religious organizations providing a broad community benefit
• Eligible organizations working with an approved fiscal sponsor, when applicable
Applicants should review the complete Community Grant Guidelines before submitting an application.
Individuals, political activities, debt retirement, operating deficits and previously incurred expenses are not eligible under the working 2026 guidance.

• A clearly defined Rice County need and the people who will benefit
• Specific, measurable outcomes
• Collaboration with local partners
• A practical project plan and responsible budget
• A plan for sustainability or continued community benefit
