It's postseason time in Fall sports, as week 9 approaches in football. It's postseason for other sports as well, as Great Bend Cross Country will head to Lawrence for state meets this Saturday.
Great Bend's Girls' team made it to state once again, and Brogan Lashlee qualified as an individual on the boys side. That was helped by the fact that Great Bend hosted substate, which head coach Lyles Lashlee called an awesome opportunity.
"It was a nice thing to have that be the first ever substate, where we're the ones to host it, with 18 teams. The course looked awesome and in my opinion we have the best cross country course in Kansas. And we're very fortunate to use it."
5A state cross country championships will be held Saturday in Lawrence.
