Stop in at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, just northeast of Great Bend, and check out the Kansas Jr. Duck Stamp art contest winners. This annual program is sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Several first, second, and third place winners are chosen in each age category. The best of show goes on to compete on the national level, where the winning design is turned into a stamp with proceeds that help conservation education.
Local artists on display include Sonora Fisher, Jonas Kern and Russell Kern.
Entries for the 2023 contest will be due in mid March.
