WABAUNSEE COUNTY —Two people died in an accident just before 4p.m. Friday in Wabaunsee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Kenworth Construction truck driven by Jason Webb, 45,&nbsp;Cheboygan, Michigan, was eastbound on Interstate 70 approximately one mile west of Spring Creek Road. The truck crossed the center median and into the westbound lanes and struck a 2020 Buick Envision driven by Barbara&nbsp;Krier, 70, Great Bend.

Krier and a passenger in the Buick identified as Steven Reed, 50, Topeka, were pronounced dead at the scene and were transported to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported a second passenger in the SUV, a 7-year-old Topeka boy, to Children's Mercy for treatment of serious injuries.&nbsp; EMS transported Webb to Stormont Vail.&nbsp; The KHP had incomplete seat belt usage details.
