
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, at about 10:15 a.m., deputies with the Barton County Sheriff’s Office stopped a maroon Ford Focus in the 100 block of Southeast 105 Avenue. The location was near the river bridge, just south of Ellinwood. When the deputy stopped the vehicle, the driver exited and fled on foot into the riverbed.
The second occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Natasha Robinson, age 20 of Larned, stayed with the vehicle. Upon questioning, Robinson provided false information to the officers and was later arrested for interference with a law enforcement officer as well as an outstanding warrant from the Barton County District Court for probation violation.

Law enforcement officers quickly surrounded the area and located the driver identified as Gefferey Palacio, age 21 of Great Bend. It was discovered Palacio had outstanding warrants through the City of Great Bend and was also charged with interference of law enforcement officer, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and was issued a citation for a defective windshield.
Both were transported to Barton County Jail without incident. Both remain in jail as of this press release.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Ellinwood Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol.
