Barton County continues to see the results of strong collaboration, as the city of Claflin has been awarded a significant grant to support important infrastructure improvements—made possible through Barton County’s ongoing partnership efforts.
Through Barton County’s strategic approach to economic development and funding support, the city of Claflin secured a $303,000 grant with the assistance of Hometown Grants, Barton County’s grant writing partner. This award marks an exciting step forward in preparing for future improvements that will benefit the community and support long-term sustainability across Barton County.
The grant will fund several components of the project, including engineering design, permitting, surveying, and continued funding strategy development. It also includes support for future grant and loan applications related to construction, as well as post-award administration to help keep everything moving smoothly.
This is a reimbursement-based grant, meaning the city will complete eligible work and then be reimbursed for those expenses. This approach ensures accountability while still allowing communities like Claflin, with support from Barton County, to move forward with meaningful progress.
