Special hours for Great Bend's Fridays on Forest this week

Posted Sep 23, 2024 4:00 PM

Great Bend Alive, part of Great Bend Economic Development, is hosting a special edition of Fridays on Forest on Sept. 27, timed between the Great Bend Homecoming Parade and the high school football game. This event, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Forest Avenue, will feature live music, food vendors like Lumpy’s, Los Dos Portillo’s, and Brand 17 BBQ, as well as drink options from Los Dos Portillo’s, Charlie’s Place and Dry Lake Brewing. This homecoming-themed event aims to capture the excitement of the parade while promoting the Love, Kansas campaign—a statewide initiative to attract new talent and showcase Kansas as a great place to live and work.

Stop by “The Landing” downtown to learn more about the Love, Kansas campaign, GBED’s Reverse Recruiting Incentive, and the reasons locals love Central Kansas. This family-friendly event will include food, music, and a welcoming atmosphere, with alcohol available for purchase (but not brought in from outside), and security on-site for safety.

Be sure to also mark your calendars for the final Fridays on Forest on Oct. 25, featuring a costume contest and more fun activities.
