As the school year progresses, young students are beginning to forget about that little slip of paper they filled out in August. Lincoln Elementary third grader Brysen Tovar was earnestly surprised when Eagle Media’s Director of Promotions Becca showed up at his school last week. Tovar is the first October $100 winner in the Make a Difference Contest, presented by OPI & Golden Belt Printing.
“I make a difference by being a good listener when my teacher is talking and making people feel good inside,” Brysen said.
Last week, Jefferson Elementary third grader Olivia Neely was named the September winner. She received an additional $100 and a swag bag of goodies from contest sponsors. Her teacher, Mrs. Cale, also won $100. As a weekly winner, Brysen is now eligible for the October Make a Difference award along with his teacher, Mrs. Arias.
“Brysen is a leader,” Arias said. “He is actually our student ambassador this week. He shows leadership skills, he’s kind, he’s helpful, respectful, and responsible. He really is a good kid.”
The Make a Difference contest, presented by OPI & Golden Belt Printing, is sponsored in part by Big Ben Custom Engraving, Freedom Claims Management, Great Bend Redi Mix, Francis Financial, Medical Park Pharmacy, R&R Roofing, Allstaff Chartered, Miller Plastics, Rosencrantz Bemis Water Well Service, Great Bend Rec, Jimlo Glass Center, Haz Mat Response, & Scooter's Coffee.
