A new month means a new slate of elementary school candidates for $200 in prize money and more in Eagle Media's Make a Difference Contest, presented by OPI & Golden Belt Printing. The first winner to become eligible for the November monthly prize is Jefferson Elementary fifth grader John Miller, who was presented with a giant $100 check last week as the weekly contest winner.
"I can make a difference by holding the door and greeting someone in a polite way," John said.
All Barton County elementary students, grades K-6, are eligible for the contest, with a catch: they have to complete the Make a Difference entry form by themselves. As a weekly winner, John and his teacher, Ms. Miller, are now eligible for the November monthly prize in which the lucky student wins an additional $100 and a backpack filled with goodies from other contest sponsors. That student's teacher also receives $100.
The Make a Difference contest, presented by OPI & Golden Belt Printing, is sponsored in part by Big Ben Custom Engraving, Freedom Claims Management, Great Bend Redi Mix, Francis Financial, Medical Park Pharmacy, R&R Roofing, Allstaff Chartered, Miller Plastics, Rosencrantz Bemis Water Well Service, Great Bend Rec, Jimlo Glass Center, Haz Mat Response, & Scooter's Coffee.
