Darlene Jeanette Branham, 88, passed away Jan. 25, 2024, at Medicalodges of Great Bend. She was born on Aug. 7, 1935, in Great Bend to Herman and Anna (Frank) Straub. On Feb. 27, 1954, she married Donnie Branham at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ellinwood. He passed on Feb. 6, 1987.
A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Darlene was a care giver at Great Bend Day Care Center for 28 years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and former member of the Altar Society. Darlene enjoyed watching sporting events and television, playing cards, being with friends, and especially taking care of her kids and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Denise (Gordon) Dolechek of Russell, Dana (N.R.) Weber of Great Bend, Dixie (Bert) Brunell of Riodoso, N.M., Douglas (Sandra) Branham of Great Bend, David Branham of Great Bend, and Daniel (Tami) Branham of Albert; 11 grandchildren, Kaylene, Kevin, Nicholas, Rebeka, Matthew, AnaMarie, Diah, Mindy, Kayci, Derek and Cody; 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and sister, Marilyn Krier.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials have been designated to Medicalodges of Great Bend, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
