Drug trafficking arrests made south of Great Bend

On Thursday, Oct. 31 at 10:27 p.m., officers from the Great Bend Police Department, with assistance from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office, responded to 51 SE 20 Road, just south of Great Bend in reference to the execution of a search warrant stemming from an ongoing investigation involving drug trafficking in Barton County.

Officers apprehended David Meitler, age 59; Tara Amador, age 52; and Sheldon Amador, age 52. During a search of the residence, detectives located methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and evidence of drug distribution.

Meitler was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail. Meitler was booked on three counts of distribution of methamphetamine, one count of possession of marijuana, one count of criminal possession of a weapon, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of no drug tax stamp. Meitler was booked in lieu of two $100,000 cash surety bonds, and one $20,000 cash surety bond.

Tara Amador was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tara was booked in lieu of a $10,000 cash surety bond.

Sheldon Amador was arrested on a no-bond Barton County District Court warrant for probation violation.
