The Great Bend Recreation Commission will be hosting a free Stop ‘N Learn Session titled “Bird Watching With KWEC” on Wednesday, March 1, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the Great Bend Rec Activity Center (2715 18th Street).
Birdwatching surged in popularity during Covid. The Merlin Bird ID app is a great tool, whether you are a beginner or more experienced birder. During this program, we will practice using the app, identifying a variety of bird mounts. We will explore the Sound ID function on the app that allows you to listen to the call around you and show real time suggestions for who’s singing. The app can even identify a bird in a photo. Mandy Kern, KWEC Program Specialist, will be the speaker for the program.
