Bombers Baseball 16U competed in the Oklahoma Wood Bat Fire Cracker Championship. The tournament consisted of two pool play games on Thursday and then a double elimination tournament starting on Friday.
Bombers went 1-1 in pool play and the tie breaker rules placed them in the 6th seed. Bombers then proceeded to win 3 straight bracket games for the chance to play in the championship game.
Coach Chris Umphres stated, “We played some really good teams. We showed that we can compete at this level. Ultimately, proud of these guys. We got better this weekend and that is all you can ask for.”
Bombers are off next weekend and then finish the season playing in a National Level Super 16U event at Creekside Complex in the Kansas City area July 13-16.
