Last May, Venture Corporation was contracted through Barton County to resurface a portion of Northeast 30 Road, or JUCO road. The hot mix asphalt overlay went from U.S. 281 Highway to just east of Northeast 30 Avenue.
Barton County is ready to resurface the rest of JUCO road to the east. Barton County Engineer Barry McManaman said Venture submitted the only bid for $527,030.85.
"This will consist of an inch and a half of hot mix overlay," said McManaman. "There will be some very minor milling for some butt joints at each end. There will be rock edge wedges along the sides so we don't have a drop-off condition. They will also put down the permanent paving marking."
The project will resurface JUCO road from Northeast 30 Avenue to the K-156 Highway intersection. Venture anticipates starting the work in July.
