The Ellinwood High School Forensics Team placed 2nd in the team sweepstakes at the Kinsley Invitational held on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Lily Hoskins placed 1st in Prose Interpretation and Mat Menges placed 1st in Poetry Interpretation. Hoskins and Menges also placed 1st in Duet Acting.
Banks Jacobs placed 2nd in Informative Speaking and also placed 2nd in Impromptu Speaking. Shawn Trarbach placed 6th in Informative Speaking, and Jordan Sandberg placed 5th in Impromptu Speaking. Sandberg and Joslin McCormick placed 2nd in Duet Acting. Sandberg also placed 5th in Poetry Interpretation, and Bennett Jacobs placed 3rd. Phillip Penner placed 2nd in Humorous Solo Acting. Penner and Jonas Kern placed 3rd in Improvised Duet Acting.
Forensics is a co-curricular activity, which means that it is both a class and an extra-curricular activity. Students attend forensics class but also attend some weekend competitions. These events give students a chance to practice skills they are learning in class.
