Benny Earl “Ben” Chesebro, 77, passed away October 20, 2024, at Bristol Hospice, Red Oak, Texas. He was born on December 24, 1946, in Pensacola, Florida, to Homer E. and Elnora L. (Schultz) Chesebro, and was raised in Larned, Kansas.
He was a 1964 graduate of Larned High School, after which he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counseling from Fort Hays State University. He served the country spending four years in the Navy as a sonarman aboard the destroyer, USS Sproston.
Ben was an ordained minister. He taught seminars and bible study groups, focusing on the power of forgiveness to change lives. Ben was the author of Comprehensive Personal Repentance (CPR). His passion in life was to see people set free from worldly bondage by the uncompromised Word of God.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carla; his son, Brian Brown and wife Yanira of Richardson, Texas; stepsons, Thomas Metzler of Aguanga, California, and Curtis Metzler of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Sofia and Annalise Brown of Richardson, Texas; and brother, Barry Chesebro and wife Debbie of Topeka.
He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Chesebro; mother and stepfather, Elnora and Gerald Jinks; and stillborn twin brother, Denny.
Visitation will take place noon to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, with family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Great Bend Cemetery.
