
From Stafford County Eco Devo
On Nov. 1, from 9:30-3:30 p.m., Stafford County Economic Development is hosting, in partnership with Network Kansas, From The Land of Kansas, Kansas Department of Agriculture, and 21st Central District Extension, a Value Added Food training for entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs who are developing food product to sell. The training is $15 and lunch will be provided. The training is also sponsored by Equity Bank, which has donated funds to help Stafford County Economic Development to train food entrepreneurs.

• Marketing and Branding
• Pricing your Product
• Selling Products online
The speakers will be Russell, Karen Blakeslee, and Bryttni Miller. Blakeslee is the Coordinator of the Rapid Response Center and Co-Director of the Kansas Value Added Foods Lab with K-State Research and Extension. She has a B.S. in Food Science and M.S. in Foods and Nutrition from Kansas State University. Prior to her Extension career, she worked in food manufacturing.
Miller and her family own and operate Yucca Flats Cattle Co. and 156 Stop-N-Go in Burdett. Russell is the Executive Director of Stafford County Economic Development and was formerly living and working in SE Asia where he ran an Entrepreneurship Program for micro and Small to Medium Enterprises.
Other organizations will be available on hand to tell participants how to get access to funding through their various programs.
The event will be held at the Stafford County Annex in St. John. Registration should be made ahead of time and check made out to Stafford County Economic Development and mailed to 311 N. Broadway, St. John, KS 67576.
