Barton Community College is gearing up for its Fall Dance Clinic for high school and college-age dancers. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 4 at BCC. Former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader and Kansas State Classy Cat Ashton Thomas returns to host the clinic.

Thomas was a former four-year member of the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders. She served as captain, choreographed quarter-break and sideline routines, represented the team at ProAction dance for two years, and cheered the team on at three Super Bowls. She was also a four-year member of the Kansas State Classy Cats, serving as captain her senior year. In addition to cheering, Ashton is a dance teacher and loves teaching numerous styles including hip hop, jazz, and pom to dancers of all ages.

Thomas choreographs competition and gameday routines for many middle and high schools, as well as universities in the Kansas City area. She also leads various intensive and private lessons to help dancers prepare for auditions. She is passionate and excited about helping dancers feel confident and capable when auditioning for their dream dance team.

When she’s not dancing, Thomas is a senior executive recruiter helping connect nonprofit professionals to their dream jobs. She fell in love with the dance community many years ago, and she is so excited to spread that love of dance with the dancers at Barton Community College.
