Great Bend Post
The Great Bend City Council will broach a variety of topics during tonight’s first meeting of June. The body will hear from City Administrator Logan Burns and Great Bend Economic Development Director Jason Kuilan, and hear an audit report from Sean Gordon with Gordon CPA.
Tonight’s meeting will also require some action from the council. The Great Bend Zoological Society has previously held its Wine in the Wild fundraiser in conjunction with Brit Spaugh Zoo. That event has been changed to the Roar and Pour, which will be held Aug. 14 from 5-8 p.m. at the Brit Spaugh Zoo. The event will feature food trucks, live music, wine and beer tastings, and small animal encounters. The council will review a resolution pertaining to the event.
The council will also vote on a motion regarding sidewalk repair in downtown areas of the city. The project is in its final stages of review by the Kansas Department of Transportation, but certain sections of city-owned sidewalk require a temporary acquisition of right of way. Public Works Director David Dunekack will explain the implications to the council.
Tonight’s Great Bend City Council meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
