Nadine Erskin, age 76

Nadine Kay Erskin, 76, passed away September 12, 2022, at her home in Garden City. She was born on May 1, 1946, in Great Bend, to Earl N. Adams, Sr. & Mildred (Thomason) Adams. She married Jim Newkirk on May 1, 1962, in Great Bend and they later divorced. Two children were born to this union; Mike and Angela. She then married Joe Erskin on April 11, 1987, in Hoisington, and he survives.

A resident of Great Bend until 1987 when she moved to Garden City, Nadine was a deaf interpreter for the Holcomb School District, Garden City School District and Garden City Community College. She formerly attended First Street Church of God in Hoisington and First United Methodist Church of Garden City. Nadine was a passionate collector of Mickey Mouse memorabilia and especially loved to spend time with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her generous and caring heart.

Survivors include, her husband, Joe Erskin of the home; a son, Mike Newkirk and wife Tana and a daughter, Angela Noblitt and husband Robert, all of Great Bend; two brothers, Johnny Adams of Susank and Freddie Ross of Pawnee Rock; six grandchildren, Michel Maneth and husband Trevor, Kimber Wedel and husband Tyler, Trey Newkirk and wife Zora, Samantha Thier and husband Aaron, Shanda DeYoung and husband Ryan and Sheridan Beaumont; and seven great grandchildren, Pyper Maneth, Ryker Maneth, Killian Wedel, Teagan Wedel, Delton Thier, Bryson Their and Hudson Thier. She was preceded in passing by her father Earl N. Adams, Sr.; parents, Mildred and Waldo Ross; and two brothers, Delbert Adams, Sr. and Earl N. Adams, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Bever and Dan Bayes presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the University of Colorado Hospital Foundation, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
