School counselors have long played a role in the lives of the students and staff around them. Less often, they win $500 in recognition of those efforts. Cayla Robison, a school counselor for Central Plains Elementary School, recently earned $500 in Eagle Media's School Hero Contest, presented by OPI & Golden Belt Printing.
"Kayla is very considerate and passionate mother, friend, and counselor," said Robison's nomination form. "She is always there to listen and help with problems. She is also very considerate of privacy, and she is an amazing person."

The School Hero Contest is for any school employee who goes above and beyond in his or her job. Administrators, teachers, paras, coaches, maintenance staff, cafeteria workers, and more are all eligible. A new School Hero will be selected on the fourth Tuesday of each month, and that hero will be recognized with $500 in prize money.
