New this year, the Great Bend Recreation Commission will offer a
flashlight Easter egg hunt. Getting the idea from the City of Mulvane, Great
Bend Rec Marketing Director Megan Hammeke said the event will occur on April 1 at the Great Bend Sports Complex.
"Depending on what age you are, you'll go to a certain field," said Hammeke. "As we get to the older range, I'm actually spray painting all the eggs dark green and black so it's harder for the kids to find the eggs with their flashlight."
In the evening, children will be given flashlights to search for the eggs.
The Pawesome Easter egg hunt will take place at 1 p.m. the same day. Dogs will be given a chance to find pet-friendly treats in eggs.
