Donald Henry Schloctermeier, 77, passed away on May 3, 2023, at his home near Ellinwood. He was born in Great Bend, on Dec. 23, 1945, to Henry and Erma (Stoss) Schloctermeier. Don was a lifetime area resident, graduating from Ellinwood High School in 1963, and he lived just a few miles away from Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Rae Martin, on July 3, 1965. She passed away April 1, 2018.
Don loved to farm and took great joy in his labor as a young boy to his last days as a farmer. Don also cherished his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memberships include St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #1187. He leaves behind his daughters, Jamie (Brian) Zink, Ellinwood; Jill Moore, Overland Park; brother, Roy (Elaine) Schloctermeier, Ellinwood; sister, Jan (John) Peters, Lewistown, Mont.; grandchildren, Lacey Steffan, Austin (Danielle) Zink, Lindsey (Dustin) Colston, Daniel Immediato, Rachel (Chase) Pumford and Raegan Moore; great-grandchildren, Callie & Maxx Steffan and Wade & Clara Zink. He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Jeanne Rae Schloctermeier; son, David Schloctermeier; and his twin sisters, Loretta and Lorene Schloctermeier.
Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 6 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church north of Ellinwood, with Fathers Terrance Klein & Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood from 1-5 p.m.Friday, May 5, with Rosary/Vigil service at 7 p.m. at Sts.
