2 hospitalized after semis collide on Kansas highway

EDWARDS COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Friday in Edwards County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 International semi driven by Homero Balderrama-Mendez, 19, Haviland, was eastbound on V Road at U.S. 183. The driver failed to stop at the stop sign.

The semi struck the passenger side of a northbound 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by Anthony M. Ross, 35, Cheyenne, Wyoming.

EMS transported both drivers to Edwards County Medical Center.  Balderrama-Mendez was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
