Sean and Heidi Stoskopf, founders and owners of Cornerstone Automotive, are announcing the sale of their company effective September 30, 2023. The Stoskopf family has been working toward this transition for the past several months and will continue to handle day-to-day operations through the end of November. The business was sold to an experienced owner in the auto industry residing out of Overland Park, who currently has an interest in several auto shops in Kansas, as well in Missouri. While new ownership is taking place, local management and employees will remain the same.
“Our family has made the decision to sell Cornerstone Automotive to a Kansas owner that will still be locally operated by familiar employee faces,” said Heidi Stoskopf. “Community members have begun asking what our plans moving forward are. While we are still exploring our options, Sean and I are looking forward to having the flexibility to be more available to our kids as they move on in their next adventures while enjoying new personal interest.”
The Stoskopf’s opened the business in 2013, serving thousands of customers since that time. Their business has grown over the years starting with two employees initially to now a staff of six.
“It has been a pleasure working with Sean and Heidi for a combined 10 years,” said Cornerstone Automotive Managers, Darin Hertel and Jeremy Sigler. “They have put their heart and soul into this company, and we wish them all the best in this next chapter of their life. We are excited to get to work closely with the new owner. He is an experienced entrepreneur in different industries, including automotive, who will bring a wealth of knowledge to our team. Our overall goal is to continue to offer the same friendly and quality services to our community during and following this transition.”
The current Cornerstone Automotive team members, along with the new owner, are working in close contact in the next few months to build a relationship and ensure the growth of the business remains a top priority. The day-to-day operations are run by the current business managers, Darin Hertel and Jeremy Sigler, and several assisting technicians.
