Darold Lee Bussard, 77, passed away May 24, 2024 at Diversicare of Larned. He was born Nov. 24, 1946, in Mulhall, Okla., the son of Thomas Vincent and Charlottie Verlen Dick Bussard. A lifetime area resident, he was retired from Dillons and the Pawnee County Courthouse.
He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the American Legion and served in the United States Army.
On Nov. 26, 1966, he married Rebecca Edith Wren in Larned. She passed away on Jan. 6, 2018.
Survivors include: daughter, Sheila Converse, Larned; brother, Willis “Willy” and wife Susie Doggett, Mulhall, Okla.; sister, Carmen and husband Don Conard, Edinburg, Va., and two granddaughters, Savanna Converse and Jaci Converse, both of Larned, numerous nieces and nephew and his dog, JJ.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Dean, Jerry, Max and his twin brother, Harold Bussard and his step mother, Lena Rae Long Bussard.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor David Spare presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, with military graveside rites.
