Robert (Bob) J. Scheideman, age 84, of Ellinwood, passed away on Sept. 22, 2023 at Medicalodges in Great Bend. Bob was born June 30, 1939, to Elmer and Ameila Scheideman in La Crosse. Elmer and Ameila had four children together. Bob was the third oldest of his four siblings. Bob lived in La Crosse for all his childhood. After high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, Bob returned home to La Crosse.
Upon returning home, Bob started working for his father as a truck driver. Bob welcomed three daughters during his first marriage to Charlotte Burton. They welcomed their first daughter, Julie Scheideman on Nov. 15, 1964. Robin Scheideman was born a few years later on June 17, 1969. Their youngest daughter, Patsy Kline, was born on Dec. 8,1973.
After Bob’s marriage to Charlotte, he moved to Phillipsburg for work and this is where he eventually met the love of his life, Mary Rozean Scheideman. On Aug. 30, 1979, Bob and Mary were married in Norton. When Bob married Mary, she had two children, which Bob helped raise. Milissa Rhoades was born on June 16, 1968. Brian Scheideman is the youngest son of Mary, and he was born Aug. 19, 1975. Bob was an astounding father to all five children.
After Bob and Mary were married, they moved to Ellinwood in 1980 for career opportunities. Bob enjoyed being a truck driver because he could explore the countryside. He drove a truck for 55 years. Eventually, Bob started working for Clear Creek in 1980, and continued his career with Clear Creek until he eventually retired in 1993. After retirement, Bob enjoyed woodworking and making gifts for his family. He would often travel to the Rozean Family Farm in Norton with Mary. Bob enjoyed working alongside his brother-in-law, John Rozean and his wife Mary.
Bob loved to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. They always knew he was in the crowd because he was the loudest one cheering. Bob also loved fishing with his son Brian and his son-in law, Mike. He enjoyed attending auctions and collecting trinkets. In his free time, Bob was entertained by word searches and sitting outside under his favorite tree with Mary. Most mornings you could find Bob at the local Zip Stop in Ellinwood enjoying a hot cup of coffee. Bob was loving, supportive, generous, and caring to all.
Bob is preceded in death by: Elmer Scheideman (Father), Ameila Scheideman (Mother), Phil Rozean (Father-in-Law), Irene Rozean (Mother-in-Law), Ray Scheideman (Brother), Mary Rozean (Sister-in-Law), Tillman Rozean (Brother-in-Law), Frank Pechanec (Brother-in-Law), and Robin Scheideman (Daughter). Bob is survived by: Mary Scheideman (Wife), Julie Scheideman (Daughter), Milissa Rhoades (Daughter), Patsy and Mike Kline (Daughter and Son-in-Law), Brian Scheideman (Son), Mary Ann Pechanec (Sister), Cathy Schlegel (Sister), John Rozean (Brother-in-Law), Jacque Scheideman (Sister-in-Law), 10 grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren.
