Janet Frances Fisher, 69, Larned, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Diversicare of Larned.
She was born Sept. 22, 1954, in Colby, the fifth of 11 children to George J. and Frances M. (Moellering) Schwarz. In 1973, she graduated from Grinnell High School. Janet was united in marriage to Ronnie Dean Rowlison on June 16, 1973. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1977. On June 3, 1994, she was united in marriage to Thomas A. “Tom” Fisher in Hays, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2019. She was a lifelong Catholic who possessed a strong devotion to the rosary. Janet loved Christian music, singing in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Choir, tuned in every Sunday morning to Message at the Top, and also enjoyed watching Hallmark Channel movies and EWTN. She was a talented artist, crocheted, knitted and loved making baby afghans.
Survivors include her son, Chris Rowlison of Hays, three daughters, Linda (Rowlison) Montgomery and husband Drew of Manhattan, Lisa (Schwarz) Dinkel and husband Matt, and Janell Schwarz, all of Topeka, four brothers, Ron Schwarz of Great Bend, Ken Schwarz and wife Debra of Topeka, Dennis Schwarz and wife Jane of Oakley, and Bernie Schwarz of Olathe, five sisters, Judith Zerr-Schamberger of Hays, Jeanne Peter of Las Vegas, N.V., Marilyn Munk of Russell, Carol Baalman and husband Roger of North Las Vegas, N.V., and Angie Feldt and husband Larry of Hays, six grandchildren, Makayla Schwarz, Abbigail Smith, Kinsley Vaughn, Chanse Schwarz, Kennedi Dinkel and Kasen Dinkel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Ronnie and Tom, and her brother, Terrence Francis Schwarz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church with Fr. Damian Richards officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 on Sunday, and from 9 a.m. until 9:45 on Monday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. A vigil service and rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities or Diversicare of Larned.
