Kathleen Joanne Damon, 83, passed away January 24, 2025, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kan. She was born December 7, 1941, in Otis, Kan., to William and Mae (Maneth) Bittner. Kathleen married Donald Hess Damon March 7, 1963, in Denver, Colo. Don died Oct. 10, 2020.
Kathleen, a longtime Great Bend resident, was a licensed cosmetologist, retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, and enjoyed reading, traveling, KU basketball, Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. Above all, Kathleen cherished time spent with family, taking a particular interest in all of Brenden, Brantley, and Myah's activities.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Loder and husband Bret of Otis; one grandson, Brenden Damon and wife Mallory; and two great grandchildren, Brantley and Myah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; brother, William Bittner; and a sister, Bernice Brock.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at St. Ann Catholic Church, with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to CKCA Endowment Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
