Belpre – Jerry Roger Meyer, 84, passed away November 27, 2020 at Country Living of Larned.

He was born February 2, 1936 in Larned, the son of Paul Bernard Sr. and Christine Mary Gales Meyer.

A lifetime area resident, he was a retired farmer and stockman. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belpre, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a 1954 Belpre high school graduate. He was a welder and made yard art, enjoyed the company of his pets, watching high school sports, and was a K-State Fan.

On June 4, 1960, he married Lahoma Hancock in Wichita. On December 19, 1990 he married Bonita Curtis at Dodge City; she survives.

Other survivors include: his children and their spouses, Janell and Al Troyer, Tonganoxie; DeAnn and John Back, Kansas City, Mo.; and Angela and Jeff Scheck, Macksville; his stepchildren, Jeri and John Golightley, Topeka; Joey and Bev Curtis, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and James and Jonita Curtis, Wichita; sister, Mary Jean Hirsh, Kinsley; Brother, Michael Meyer, Breckenridge, CO He has six grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul B. Meyer Jr, and infant Larry Meyer. 

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Larned Country Living and Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice of Great Bend for their loving care of Dad. 

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 at Belpre Cemetery with Father Bernard Felix presiding; service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
