Hatchet Axtion in Great Bend, where customers could throw axes among other activities, announced they are permanently closing on Jan. 12.
Located at 1210 Main Street, Hatchet Axtion opened in June 2022, just south of the courthouse square. Co-owners Sage Cauley and Johan Sanchez brought the concept to Great Bend after enjoying a similar establishment in the Kansas City area.
The establishment also included a "kids zone" for children under 12.
Hatchet Axtion was awarded 3rd place and $10,000 during the 2023 Ignite Rural Business Competition in Great Bend. The money fueled a bar, rage room and escape room.
In Hatchet Axtion's Facebook message, they encouraged citizens to use up any certificates before Jan. 12.
