The No. 4 ranked Barton Community College men's tennis team navigated a challenging weekend of high-level competition, squaring off against four nationally ranked programs at the Collin College Super Bash in Plano, Texas.
Barton opened play Thursday in commanding fashion, sweeping No. 15 Jacksonville College 9-0. The competition stiffened Friday as the Cougars were edged 5-4 in a tightly contested matchup with No. 10 Weatherford College before running into top-ranked Tyler Junior College in a 9-0 setback. Closing out the weekend Saturday, Barton remained competitive throughout but ultimately fell 7-2 to host No. 6 Collin County Community College.
The Cougars exit the weekend at 3-5 overall and now shift focus to the start of conference play beginning Thursday, April 2, hosting No. 7 Seward County Community College for a 1:00 p.m. first serve at the East Courts at Veterans' Memorial Park.
Barton continues league action the following week with a road trip to No. 2 Pratt Community College before wrapping up the conference slate on Tuesday, April 14, hosting No. 5 Cowley College.
