St. John's Episcopal Church in Great Bend will host the "Blessing of the Pets" on Oct. 6 at 2 p.m.
Citizens wishing to have their pets blessed should bring their pet on a leash or in a carrier. Taking place outdoors at the church, 2107 Tyler Street, patrons should bring blankets or chairs for seating. Donations of money, old towels and blankets are encouraged for the Great Bend Humane Society.
Heart of Kansas Mercantile and Red Barn will provide free treats for the pets.
