Citizens from all over will have a chance to experience the thrill of flight at the Great Bend Airfest this September. The three-day event will feature air shows, night-time performances, stunts from skilled pilots, up-close displays and plenty of entertainment on the ground too.

The 2024 show will cost approximately $300,000, so Great Bend Community Coordinator Christina Hayes said along with sponsors and tickets, the city will be conduct a raffle.

"We have four awesome opportunities to win," said Hayes. "This will be another way to offset that expensive cost of Airfest."

Tickets for this year’s Airfest and the raffle will go on sale July 26 during the Fridays on Forest event downtown hosted by Great Bend Economic Development. A ticket for the raffle will be $10 and give you four chances to win an experience at Airfest, including two driving opportunities.

"You can win a drive in a Lamborghini or Ferrari," said Hayes. "You'll get to go down the runway. There's one seat on the B-29 Doc. Craig Robl also donated a ride in an F-1 Rocket."

Great Bend Airfest, scheduled every three years and planned for September 20-22 this fall, is one of the premier airshows in the United States.
