In a heart stopping boys quarterfinal matchup at the Class 1A Division I State Basketball Championship, the Central Plains Oilers edged out the Frankfort Wildcats with a final OT score of 54-44.
The game, held at Dodge City's United Wireless Arena, saw both teams battling fiercely for a spot in the semifinals. Brodie Crites led the Oilers with 21 points, Camden Stiles with 15 and Aiden Hekele with 11. Central Plains entered the tournament with a 18-4 record, while Frankfort stood at 18-6.
Central Plains will advance to face Olpe High School in the semifinals scheduled for Friday, March 14 at 4PM.
