Brief tornadoes are possible later this afternoon into the early evening hours, especially west of the Flint Hills. Have multiple ways to receive warnings, and report severe weather to the NWS or local law enforcement.

Great Bend is in a risk area that also includes all of Barton, Pawnee, Ellsworth, and Russell counties, and the northern half of Stafford County. Along with possible tornadoes, wind gusts of 50-60 miles per hour may occur. The National Weather Service states the greatest risk is Wednesday afternoon and evening between 1-8 p.m.
