Little River Volleyball is one of the most dominant programs in the state. Four straight state titles in 1A, and chasing a 5th under head coach Kim Rolfs, who recently earned her 500th win as head coach of the program.
She says the program has been built on player leadership, and said the team recently had another example after a tough week.
"I've been blessed with some great kids here lately. That winning attitude, that culture, you know, what it takes to become a successful team. I think that's just kind of rolling along from year to year. A great example is, I usually give my kids off the Friday after our first tournament just to give them a good rest. We didn't play quite the way that we needed to, and the kids knew that.
"They were very high spirited to come in and practice on Friday. They very much could've come in with the attitude of 'gosh we usually get this day off' but they didn't. They knew they needed to get better and so that tells me our culture is really good and they know the expectations."
Little River Volleyball is scheduled to play Rural Vista Tuesday, September 22nd at 5PM.
