Haven Liebl joins Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic as a new respiratory therapist serving patients throughout the hospital.
Liebl, who spent part of her childhood in Ellinwood before her family moved away during her freshman year of high school, joined Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic in June. Now, she is bringing her experience from Wesley Medical Center in Wichita back to the community she has always considered home.
“I grew up in Ellinwood and am thrilled to have the opportunity to return and serve this community,” Liebl said. “Being able to care for patients in a place that means so much to me makes this role especially meaningful.”
Before joining Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic, Liebl worked as a respiratory therapist at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, where she provided care throughout the hospital in a variety of settings. Her experience includes caring for critically ill patients, managing ventilators, supporting patients with tracheostomies, and providing respiratory treatments across multiple departments.
Respiratory therapy is a field she is passionate about because of its unique blend of critical thinking and hands-on patient care.
“Respiratory therapy is incredibly broad,” Liebl said. “We manage ventilators, help care for patients with tracheostomies, manage CPAP and BiPAP therapy, and assist patients who need inhalers, breathing treatments, or medications. It combines a lot of critical thinking with direct patient care.”
She said helping patients breathe easier is one of the most rewarding parts of her profession.
“Breathing is something people take for granted until they can’t do it,” Liebl said. “I love getting to make a difference in people’s lives.”
At Ellinwood Hospital & Clinic, Liebl will provide respiratory care throughout the organization, including emergency room support for ventilator and tracheostomy patients, inpatient respiratory care, and outpatient services such as nebulizer treatments, CPAP and BiPAP management, and other respiratory therapies.
Liebl said she strongly believes in the hospital’s mission of treating patients like family.
“In a rural hospital, relationships matter so much,” she said. “I make sure all my patients feel heard and respected, and I cherish being able to help them through those hard times.”
Hospital leadership said Liebl’s commitment to compassionate care and her broad clinical experience make her an excellent addition to the team.
“There’s something special about welcoming someone home,” said Troy Moore, Chief Executive Officer. “Haven understands our community, our values, and our commitment to treating patients like family. We are proud to have her return to Ellinwood and help us continue delivering exceptional care close to home.”
