The 3rd ranked Barton Community College women's track and field had another successful meet this past weekend in Lubbock, Texas, competing in the Masked Rider Open hosted by Texas Tech University.

Taking on numerous four-year, as well as, strong two-year programs in the two-day event, the Cougars posted twelve personal bests, won two events among their seven top-three placings, and again impacted the program record book.

Annia Ashley flew high into the 6th spot on the program all-time list, clearing the high jump bar with a nation leading 1.76m (5-09.25) height for a three-way tie for first but taking third on amount of missed jumps. Also reaching a new personal best, Nia Robinson cleared 1.71m (5-07.25) to place fifth in a three-way tie for fourth.

Kayan Green continued her progression in the mid-distance events, shaving nearly four seconds off of last week's 800m time in clocking a program 8th best 2:08.72 to win the Masked Rider. Sasha Brown also posted a personal best effort in clocking a 2:18.83 in cracking the events top ten with a 9th placing.

Setting the program record last week in the 400m hurdles, Lashanna Graham took the hurdles out of the equation falling just .18 seconds outside the 400m top ten list with a 53.72 in finishing third of the twenty-six entry field.

The relay squads posted two season bests including a nation's best 4x400m time as Shemia Odaine, Jayda Dillon, Green, and Graham passed the baton in 3:46.54 to finish second behind Texas Tech. Odaine and Dillon were joined by Ayesha Nelson and Amaya Gaddy in the one trip around the oval 4x100m placing seventh overall in 46.09.

Recent University of Georgia signee Ana Da Silva bettered her program third best shot put throw by over two feet to place third in the Open with a nation best 15.92m (52-02.75).
