Join city officials, community members, and partners as the city of Hoisington officially cuts the ribbon and flips the switch on its publicly-owned, one-megawatt solar array. Discover how this tracking array—inspired by the resilient state sunflower—will harvest Kansas sunshine to power the city's local grid and provide a self-reliant foundation for generations to come.
A brief dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place as part of the city of Hoisington’s governing body meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The council meeting will start at 6 p.m., and quickly progress to the first item of new business which is the dedication of the Hoisington solar array.
The city has invited a number of partners to share comments about its locally-owned solar array prior to the actual ribbon cutting. This ceremony should provide a lot of information to Hoisington residents while providing an opportunity to view the facility up close and ask questions about the array. City officials look forward to celebrating this significant project with residents.
